Generally I hate working holidays. They are usually filled with a near endless stream of people too cheap to go out other times of the year. New Year's Eve is one of the few exceptions to that. New Year's Eve is one of the best money making shifts a server can work. People are out to have a good time. They are drinking and having fun. In a restaurant (which closes before the ball drops) people are in for a few drinks, some food, and then they hit the road to get to the real party. In and out quick, lots of booze, and really good tips. So have a good, and a safe, New Year's Eve. I'll be spending mine somewhere quiet this year, no loud bars or big parties for this waiter.
