Lobsterfest 2008 is over

A moment of silence for the end of the best time of the year for Red Lobster service staff.

Amen.

Chain restaurants are starting to feel the pinch of the economy. It will be interesting to see if this slumping economy/bad housing market/high gas prices will weed out some of the crappier chain restaurants. My opinion is that it will cull the herd some, but not enough to really change the restaurant landscape in much of the USA.

I'm not an economist, but this economy thing needs to change. It's inflicting a larger burden on those who are in the lower portion of our economy, on those who can least afford the increase in prices and the problems that come with that.

Me and my wife seldom go to eat out anymore. I love to cook, but sometimes we want to be upper class and be waited on and have a good meal.

The way things are going right now, in a short time, everybody will be eating Big Mac's and not setting down to a good meal served by good folks that love their job.

It's a shame, but money is about to get very tight. We love a good steak or seafood, but it's cheaper to do it at home.

the economy does suck, but it's gonna have its ups and downs just like everything else in life. it's in a down time right now, but it'll pick back up. people just need to wait it out and cut their costs.

I have just ssen this blog for the first time today. Being a server at the sister company (Olive Garden), I can totally sympathize with you about "Lobster Fest". I always imagine what my brothers and sisters are going through, whenever I see the commercials. Then I think to myself..."Wait a minute! Why am I feeling sad for them. "Lobster Fest" means that Olive Garden's "Pasta Bowl" is just around the corner." Oh God, they will be coming out of the woodwork for it.

I visited your site today and think we both could really benefit from exchanging links to each other. We could either do a reciprocal link or a three way link trade which would be most beneficial to both of us as it is a one way link to each other. Our site is www.mustlovefood.com.

With the three way link trade we would add a blog post on www.food-and-beverage.net that linked to your main page and 2 sub pages via keyword. In return you would link back to mustlovefood.com. The advantage to this is that you get 3 links back from food-and-beverage.net in return for linking to mustlovefood.com.

However, if you prefer we can do the reciprocal link instead.

If you are interested in swapping links please let us know the following:

For the three way linking please include the three keywords you want linked in the blog post and the URL to which they should point. If you prefer to write the blog post please feel free to do so and include it in your response.

For Reciprocal links please include the keyword, URL and a brief description if you would like one added under the link back to you.

Once we have received the information from you we will add the link(s) to our site and then email you back so that you can place the link back to www.mustlovefood.com.

Thanks for your time.

Preach on my brother....

I waited on 30 people today, on a typical Tuesday that would have been about 50 people. And that people that did come in, well, we won't go there.
