Endless shrimp is thankfully, NOT endless

That light at the end of the tunnel out there for all you Red Lobster servers is the end of Endless Shrimp.  Indeed, it will be ending a week from today, November 15, 2010.  There will be a lot of drinking that evening, and rejoicing and celebrating!

Suffice it to say, we've survived yet another AYCE Shrimp promo but with the greatest disdain possible.  I'm pretty sure they serve Endless Shrimp in Hell.

I don't know how much I'll be blogging in the next few weeks.  I have a business trip (my not Red Lobster side) a mini-vacation with my lady, and a minor surgery.  Maybe I'll post while hopped up on opiate based pain killers.  That would be fun!

You won't blog more often then a week - to three weeks at a time. Whatever shall we do...::couch faint::

Just kidding, I kid, I kid - I am glad the AYCE shrimp is over soon - you get a nice mini vacation and hope your surgery goes well.

Relax and have fun. See you sometime in December..or 2011. hee
Should I wish you happy holidays now - well consider yourself wished.

All the best.

I love serving over the Christmas holiday (for the most part). We are busy, people are out to have a good time, and people tend to not be in such a hurry. Makes it more enjoyable to deal with people.

Plus I have 2 sets of regulars who give me a "bonus" of sorts. Very nice of them to think of me. It always provides a nice (and I do mean NICE) bottle of Scotch for my own holidays. Not to be confused with holidaze - that comes from the cheap stuff.

Hi I work for Red Lobster as well and cant stand it, I only stay because I make decent money for the hours devoted while I am still in school. I have a question.. is there a certain time notice that the managers need to give the servers before scheduling a Saturday meeting? We only got a few days notice for the meeting they have scheduled for this Saturday. It's not right, what if we had plans or obligations already set? 3 days notice is unfair..

To my knowledge there isn't something governing the amount of notice they must give, but there is courtesy. If you indeed have plans, then talk with your GM (not one of your other managers - even your scheduling manager) and explain the situation. If it is legit, and the notice is that short, they have to have a plan in place for those who will miss the training. There are always people who miss the training. Also, and I've done this before personally, if you live within a reasonable distance of other Red Lobsters, see if you can attend at another site. My own graduation once conflicted with a meeting, so I went to another regional store about 15 miles away the weekend before my was having the meeting, & then caught up later on any specifics unique to my local store.

I also make a habit of requesting off for anything of import that isn't included in my weekly availability. That way, if I've requested off two weeks in advance and then suddenly they schedule a meeting, I'm not responsible for it.
