But if you want a "cheap" meal at Red Lobster, I guess you're in for a treat. The only redeeming value of this is that perhaps people will move up to it at lunch time. But I wouldn't bet the Farm on it.
And the one place I'll credit the Slobster - they've chosen some decent flavor profiles in these meals.

I'll take this over Endless Shrimp any day. Actually, most of the entrees are pretty decent, and are a relatively easy sell at lunch. Especially the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Alfredo. And really, pricewise, that's pretty much where they'd be priced, even without the catchy advertising. What's more bothersome to me is putting the Four Course Feast on the regular menu. THERE'S where we compete with the non-competition. Only been a couple of weeks, and already the 'sharers' have returned, as in, 'we'll share the Four Course Feast'. So, Two Can Dine for $15.99. Hope the Darden folks aren't reading. That could be the new catchphrase....
On the other hand, the new Sweet Chili Shrimp appetizer is a meal in itself. One dozen batter-fried shrimp in a sweet Chili-Ginger sauce, over a bed of shredded Romaine. Think Bonefish's bang-bang shrimp with a little more of a kick. And, there's more than just broccoli (sigh) as a vegetable choice. Add petite green beans, and a roasted veggie medley of squash, zucchini, red onions, and tomatoes to the selections. Finally!
I look at it as 'value-priced quality'. Still going to have your Ultimate and Admiral's lovers, always going to have the Endless Shrimp trough, so I'm hoping to gain some of that Applebees/Chili's/TGIFridays/ crowd, those seeking something a tad different from the 'bland chain restaurant' fare.
Must......remain.....positive.....
I'm going back to Red Lobster. I'm looking forward to eat the Bang Ban---I mean sweet chili thai shrimp during downtime!
